  • The Emergence of Modern America, 1890-1930 The student will understand how the United States changed politically, culturally, and economically from the end of World War I to the eve of the Great Depression.
    1. Students will analyze how developments in industrialization, transportation, communication, and urban mass culture changed American life.
      1. Students will describe key social changes related to immigration, social policy, and race relations.
        1. Students will examine the changing role of art, literature and music in the 1920s and 30s.
