Student Investigations

During each investigation (left), you will get to watch a short movie that introduces a question of historical debate.

Next, you will have the opportunity to read a set of historical sources that relate to the central question. Text annotations and audio & video clips with helpful commentary will accompany those sources.

Also, you will be able to answer guiding questions right on the computer that will help you practice important historical thinking skills such as sourcing, contextualizing, close reading, and corroborating.

Once you have analyzed the sources, you will have the chance to bring all of your insights together by writing an essay that responds to the investigative question, which you can then email to your teacher.

After you complete this investigation, you can try your hand at exploring related topics using other internet resources in a webquest.
